TUESDAY 4/15: ‘State of the Shore’ Breakfast with Gov. McAuliffe

Gov. Terry McAuliffe will be the keynote speaker at the first annual “State of the Shore” breakfast on Tuesday, April 15, in the Workforce Development Center at Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa.  McAuliffe will share his views, aspirations and concerns about the Commonwealth, rural Virginia, and the Eastern Shore.

The Workforce Development Center doors will open at 7:45 a.m.  At 8 a.m., light breakfast refreshments will be served in the Atrium with the Governor available to meet with attendees.  The formal program will begin at 9 a.m. in the Great Hall.

Other speakers include Senator Lynwood Lewis, Delegate Robert Bloxom, Accomack County Board of Supervisors Chair John Charles “Jack” Gray, and Northampton County Board of Supervisors Chair Larry LeMond.  Mayors of all towns in both counties have been asked to provide brief written reports that will be distributed to the attendees.

There is a $20 registration fee payable by cash, check, or credit card.  Advance registration is required.  Call Laura Fosque at (757) 789-7979 or [email protected].

The State of the Shore breakfast is a joint effort of the Northampton County, Eastern Shore of Virginia and Chincoteague Chambers of Commerce in partnership with the Community College.  The three Chambers are collaborating this year to hold a regional event rather than the legislative reporting events each Chamber has held separately in years past.
