County Education Foundation Announces $40,000 Scholarship

The Northampton County Education Foundation has established a scholarship covering tuition cost up to $10,000 per year to a Northampton High School graduating senior who is in need of financial assistance for post-secondary education at a four-year accredited institution.

Applicants for the scholarship must provide evidence of financial need documented by a completed Federal Student Aid Application; leadership and citizenship; strong work ethic; and extracurricular activities/community service. In addition, applicants must submit an essay explaining, “How I make/have a positive impact/influence on others around me”.

The winner of the Community Sponsored Scholarship will be awarded tuition cost up to $10,000 for the 2015-2016 school year. The scholarship is renewable for up to three years, if the recipient remains in good academic standing.

NCEF also encourages Northampton High School seniors to apply for one of its two Northampton County Education Foundation Student Scholarships.  These $500 non-renewable scholarships have qualifying criteria similar to the Community Sponsored Scholarship.

The submission deadline for the scholarship applications is April 15, 2015.  Detailed application information for these scholarships can be obtained on the NCEF Website – http://www.ncedufoundation.com/ or through the Northampton High School Guidance Office.

The Northampton County Education Foundation invites others in the community to help Northampton high school students further their education by supporting the Foundation’s post-secondary scholarship program.  The Foundation will assure that investment in our youth yields positive results.
