SATURDAY 5/30: ‘Havana Nights’ Arts Enter Benefit by the Bay at the Oyster Farm

Arts Enter’s 19th annual Benefit by the Bay on Saturday, May 30, at the Oyster Farm at Kings Creek Marina is a night to celebrate the contributions of our many sponsors and donors.  The Havana Nights-themed dinner/dance also celebrates the success of our educational and entertainment program in the fine and performing arts.  Music, art, drama and dance fill the Historic Palace Theatre, the Stage Door Gallery, the dance studio and the art room.  Many children have received their introduction to the arts through their involvement on the theatre stage or in a classroom at Arts Enter. Individual tickets to the Benefit by the Bay are $100 and may be purchased by calling 757 331-2787 or visiting the website: artsentercapecharles.org

As founder and volunteer Executive Director Clelia Sheppard shifts her role at Arts Enter, the organization is entering another chapter with the hiring of new Executive Director Larry Giddens. The pursuit of Arts Enter’s original mission of education and appreciation of the arts in our rural community remains intact. The walls will continue to be filled with a love of the arts that lifts our spirits.

Sponsors and donors are critical to that vision.  Financial challenges are continual as grant support for the arts is diminished across the country. The program-specific grant “Our Town” from the National Endowment for the Arts has finished its funding cycle, but Arts Enter is focused on continuing to promote Cape Charles as a Harbor for the Arts.

Benefit by the Bay sponsors play a significant role towards achieving that aspiration.  Sponsor levels begin at $3,000.  Corporate sponsors at that level will receive eight tickets to the Benefit, four season passes to the Palace Theatre 2015-16 season, and advertising opportunities.  $250 sponsors receive two event tickets and a season pass to the theatre.  All contributions help enrich the arts and any donation amount is welcome.

Arts Enter is a qualified 501 (c)(3), and a portion of any donation is tax deductible.
