Thanks everyone. We will make sure to announce when Farm Stand begins; as of now mark your calendars for Thursdays 11:30 to 1:30. The kids will kick off their stand at the parade for July 4th and the first Farm Stand day will probably be ready July 11th!

What a great program for the kids! And, for the town! I love driving past the neat garden and white, picket fence at the corner. A perfect yet subtle message to newcomers as they enter town off Stone Rd.!

This is a great program that will change the kids involved for the rest of their lives, and improve their diet and the diet of their children. Growing your own vegetables decreases pollution (not transportation by truck), loss of vitamins and vegetable quality and decreases the cost of the product as well. If everyone were to have a little vegi garden, the costs in the stores would go down substantially as well. Another idea for Cape Charles might be to find some vacant land on which we can create “urban gardens” for those of us with smaller yards, so that we can become more self sufficient.
