That's my real name, I was born, raised and educated here. During my youth I saw and was affected by the town council officials in the town of Cape Charles's management and how it was applied to certain people. From education, employment, businesses, town government, recreational and entertainment activities, medical and religion, utilities and taxes (my list could go on ), the method(s) of application seems to have caused, and once again is causing, poor developemnt and disturbing issues for this town.

Let me say this boldly: outsiders are coming in and have come in and have taken control of the functions of the town and have plans for development that will affect certain people living in certain areas of the town.

Question: What happens to the people who can't pay their tax or insurance increases beceause they have no or limited income; where are the jobs? The people making these new laws and planning for the developement of the town -- where do or did they get their money?

Basketball courts and parks are good to have, but what about the redevelopment issues in areas of the town affected by little or no employment? What about computer education? The decision makers who feel that they have the power to buy or sell any property belonging to the town without going through proper precedures or finding out from ALL the citizens of the town should be strongly challenged and/or investigated to see if there's another interest involved.

Last but not least, Old School issues: It appears that there's more interest in the school in town than the one "over the Hump" and the plans for it. I've read and have talked to certain people, and I still see the same old thing still going on, but with new faces.

The Sleeping Giant will awake, Town of Cape Charles. This town has great potential. If it makes a stronger and more determined effort to get ALL of its citizens involved in meeting their needs, then the Town of Cape Charles would have great results in its development.

Let's don't forget $40,000 for a handicapped ramp for the old library! Never mind when they have meetings in the municipal building handicapped people can't attend :-( And if there is a fire on the first floor, everyone in the meeting is toast. This is just crazy!
