The Invasion of the Pod People and the Cape Maying of Cape Charles is complete. No Agent Mulder, I don’t want to believe. Not even Debbie Bender in an F-250 can save us now…..that said, congrats to George Proto (I think he will be a good Mayor), Joan, Chris and Sambo. And remember, as Woody Allen so wisely stated in his book ‘Loser Take All’, “More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.”

A very good first step in healing for the winning administration is to get those voters who declared Cape Charles as their “primary” residence for the purpose of this election to pay local property taxes for their automobiles, as that will substantially increase our tax revenue.

As a local Cape Charles outsider, (Townsend), I must say the the Three Ring Circus known as Cape CharlesTown Council will not be as entertaining as it could have been. The townfolk actually elected the best and brightest candidates this go around. The town employees can shed a sigh of relief, perhaps the Chickens will come home to roost, and even the Cats can stop worrying. Speaking of the town felines; I propose the the town change it’s name to “Cat City”.
