FRIDAY 1/24: Energy Conservation in Alpine Animals

“Energy Conservation in Alpine Animals” is the next Science and Philosophy Seminar, 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy., Melfa.

Jack Cranford will discuss how five species of the Uinta Mountains of Utah use techniques such as torpor, hibernation, and estivation to conserve energy.

Cranford is retired on the Shore from a career at Virginia Tech studying mammalian ecology and physiology.
