FRIDAY 10/4: Movies Resume at Palace Theatre; Name Is MUD

The Fall program for the Food, Friends and Film event resumes Friday, October 4, at the Palace Theater in Cape Charles with the film “Mud.”

Cocktail hour begins at 7:30 p.m. (open bar), and the movie starts at 8 p.m. Suggested donation is $10.

Directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Mathew Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, and Sam Shepherd, “Mud” follows two teenage boys in the Arkansas delta, Ellis and Neckbone. They travel to a small island in the Mississippi River where Neckbone finds a boat stuck high in a tree, the lone refugee from great flood. At first planning to keep the boat for themselves, they come to realize someone is living in it and meet Mud (Matthew McConaughey), a fugitive who grew up in the area. He wants to reunite with his old girlfriend Juniper (Witherspoon) and then skip town.
