SATURDAY 6/6: CBES Clean the Bay Day at Oyster

Team CBES wants you for CLEAN THE BAY DAY. The Chesapeake Bay gives the Eastern Shore so much: great seafood, jobs, recreation, and an amazing way of life. On Saturday, June 6, let’s give back during the 27th Annual Clean the Bay Day. Join Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore, “Team CBES,” and lend a hand with shoreline litter and debris clean-up in Oyster.

Hundreds of volunteers all over the Chesapeake Bay region, on foot and on water, are needed for this annual shoreline cleanup, sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and partner localities across Virginia.

“Team CBES” will be volunteering at The Nature Conservancy’s Living Shoreline in Oyster. With enough volunteers, we can expand to the boat ramps on the opposite side of the harbor and make an even bigger impact.

To volunteer for “Team CBES” or any of the eight Clean the Bay Day events on Virginia’s Eastern Shore visit cbf.org/clean, send an e-mail to [email protected] or call 1- 800/SAVEBAY. Early registration is advised. This is a family-friendly event for people of all ages. A responsible adult should accompany children under 16.

CBES is giving a special shout-out to our members. Come enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Bay lovers and let’s put our love for the Shore into action.

Major corporate sponsors for Clean the Bay Day include CSX, Norfolk Southern, Port of Virginia, Brown Advisory, River Network/Budweiser, Farm Fresh, HelioSage, Entercom Communications, Inside Business and AltDaily.
