New Programs at Northampton Free Library

The Northampton Free Library in Nassawadox is happy to announce the start of new adult programs beginning in February. All programs will be in our newly updated meeting room and will offer light refreshments.

The Nassawadox Book Club will meet on the third Thursday of every month from 2-4 p.m. Everyone will be reading the same book and books will be provided. Join us for lively discussions and find out what others are reading. We are limited to 12 people for this club because of the availability of the books so please call the library to register.

Game Time will be twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday at 2 p.m. Join your neighbors and friends for an afternoon of dominoes, cards, checkers, chess and more. No need to register; just come on out.

Jigsaw Puzzle Junkies is for anyone who can’t get enough of making puzzles. We know there are quite a few of you out there so come share the love with other like-minded souls. We will meet on the second Monday of every month from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and keep two puzzles going at a time.

One on one Basic Computing Skills will be for the individual wanting to gain confidence in using the keyboard, mouse, email and typing word documents. If you have a specific problem area we might be able to help you with that too. Please call the library to set up a meeting time.

Did you know the Eastern Shore libraries have a great website where you can learn a language, read full editions of magazines, search ES ancestors, write a resume, and download E-books? You can also use a pin to request books and keep a record of what you’ve read. We’ll meet with you and explain all the resources possible with Library Website Wonders. Call the library to set up your meeting time.

The Northampton Library already has the ESPL Friends Book Discussion Group meeting on the first Thursday of every month with selected topics and of course our children’s story time on Monday mornings at 11 a.m.

Our Friends group is now on Facebook so check out their page (Friends of the Northampton Free Library) for the latest library news and info on events.

Community groups with 18 to 20 people are welcome to use our meeting room at no charge. The room has a projection screen and white board available. Please call the library to see if your time slot is open.

The library phone number is 757-414-0010. We invite anyone from the shore to join our programs and please let us know if you have an idea for one you’d like us to try. See you in Nassawadox!
