APRIL 12, 19, 26: Printmaking Class with Eden Ertle at Arts Enter

Beginning April 12 and continuing on April19 and April 26,  artist Eden Ertle will teach printmaking during her Sunday Art Sessions at Arts Enter from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The three week class is priced at $90. Register for one class or for the entire series.  Classes are open to anyone 12 or older.  Contact ArtsEnter at  (757) 331-2787 or instructor Eden Ertle at (757) 331-4079 or [email protected].

Printmakers have something to say and want to leave an impression.   This course will help students to do just that: creating a well thought out design, transferring it to a block, and carving then printing it.  Students will leave with many copies of their hand made work to keep or to distribute.  All materials provided.   The three sessions are designed as follows:

Session 1: Designing and carving a greeting card or postcard

Session 2: Designing and carving a landscape

Session 3: Hand printing with ink

Artist and Educator Eden Ertle has been an Art teacher for 13 years.  She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Art Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.  From 2003-2010 she taught art to Middle School students in both the public and private school settings.  She has also taught art summer camps at schools, art centers, and religious institutions from preK-12th grade.  She taught adult classes at Anne Arundel Community College in 2011 before moving to the Eastern Shore the same year.  In addition to being the Cape Charles Christian school art teacher for 2 years, Eden teaches art workshops and homeschool classes at ArtsEnter.  Eden has years of experience in a variety of media ranging from drawing and painting to ceramics, weaving, and printmaking.   Because of Eden’s love of art and her experience working with many art materials and students of all ages she brings a courage and confidence that her students are enriched by.
