FRIDAY 4/12: ‘Boats on the Bay’ Seminar at ESCC

The Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia will present  “Boats on the Bay:  From the 17th Century until Now.”  12:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the Eastern Shore Community College lecture hall, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa.

Paul Ewell will discuss the evolution of Cheasapeake Bay boats, including their design, performance, and usage.

Ewell is Executive Director of Watermen’s Heritage Foundation of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Inc.  He teaches at Virginia Wesleyan College.

The Science and Philosophy Seminar explores topics ranging from philosophical speculation to scientific research. All seminars are free and open to the public.
