THURSDAY 1/9: ‘Perceptions of Coastal Virginia’ at Barrier Islands Center

A Sense of Place: Perceptions of Coastal Virginia, a public Reading of works produced by UVA undergraduate students during a Nature Writing Workshop, 5 p.m. Thursday, January 9, at the Barrier Islands Center in Machipongo.

The UVA Anheuser-Busch Coastal Research Center is hosting a Nature Writing workshop for UVA undergraduate students. They toured natural and developed areas on the Eastern Shore and took a crash course in local history while being exposed to the works of some of America’s best nature writers.

Now the students have written about their experiences and how they perceive the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Please join us for a public reading of some of these poems and short essays.
