FRIDAY: ‘HIV: How a Virus Outsmarted the Human Race’

Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia’s next seminar is “HIV: How a Virus Outsmarted the Human Race,” 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 28, in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy., Melfa.

Art Fournier will describe the discovery of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), its progression into a worldwide epidemic, prevention, and treatments. Fournier is retired here on the Shore and was a Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Miami. He also was associated with the Shore’s Rural Health in its early days.
