Some fun facts about worms:

DID YOU KNOW — worms are said to be shy of the light? In fact, they burrow during the day and stay close to the surface, but they can dig down in the soil as deep as 6.5 feet (2 meters).

DID YOU KNOW — there isn’t a fossil record of earthworms? They are soft-bodied invertebrates and do not have an internal skeleton made of bone so do not leave a skeletal trace in history.

DID YOU KNOW — how long wiLL a worm live? Most earthworms will live for about six years in the wild.

Come out to the garden and learn more about worms and so much more. All are welcome to this fun-filled family day with hands-on garden planting, healthy and yummy snacks, and activities for children of all ages.

You won’t want to miss hearing about the Thursdays in the Garden program, Sign-up your kids for Summer Garden Club, and to check out the Butterfly & Herb garden planted in the fall, funded by a Keep America Beautiful grant.
