SATURDAY Is Annual Juneteenth Festival Celebrating End of Slavery

For 15 years, the Juneteenth Festival has been an arena to educate and promote cultural enlightenment and diversity to the residents of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Juneteenth is the oldest known festival to celebrate the end of slavery. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 21, at Eastern Shore Community College, Melfa, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for the “Walk for Good Health” hosted by the Sickle Cell Association will begin at 9 a.m. This is a Family Fun Day event.
