FRIDAY 11/15: Phragmites — The Truth Behind the Invasion

Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia presents “Phragmites: The Truth Behind the Invasion” 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 15, in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa.

Marilyn Ailes will discuss the history and distribution of the invasive vs. native species, the various methods of control, including the use of different herbicides, and their effectiveness. Ailes is retired from a career in Environmental Science, including working for the Navy at Wallops Island.

This Seminar may qualify as Continuing Education for Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners.
