FRIDAY 5/17: ‘Agent-Based Robotics’ Seminar at ESCC

The Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia presents “Agent-Based Robotics” 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, in the Eastern Shore Community College lecture hall, 29300 Lankford Hwy., Melfa.

Josh Hall will explore the history and some of the details of the important technique in robotics of combining many simpler minds so that they interact constructively as a complex mind.

After a career in artificial intelligence since the 1970s, Hall is semi-retired here on the Shore in order to focus on his writing.

The Science and Philosophy Seminar explores topics ranging from philosophical speculation to scientific research. All seminars are free and open to the public.

Seminars are occasionally postponed on short notice; check www.SciPhi.org within two days of a scheduled date.
