SATURDAYS 2/9 & 2/16: Beginning Beekeeping Class

The Beekeepers Guild of the Eastern Shore is offering a Beginning Beekeeping Class in February at the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce in

Melfa.

The class meets 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on two consecutive Saturdays: February 9 and 16.

As the weather warms in April, an open hive day for up-close, hands-on learning will be announced.

This class is for those interested in learning the basics of beekeeping, and will provide all the information and support needed to get started with honeybees this year.

Registrants will receive a comprehensive handbook, catalogs from different bee supply companies, and information about bees, equipment,management, pests, and other topics. In addition, registrants will be given a 4-month membership in the guild.

The cost of the class is $20, which includes materials and refreshments. Additional household members may register for $10.
